Rare Zebra Foal Spotted In The Masai Mara

Posted by IBIS | October 9, 2019

Think all zebras look the same? Well, think again. A rare polka-dotted zebra foal has been spotted in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. The foal was spotted by photographer Frank Liu and his Maasai guide Antony Tira who first pointed out the zebra, whilst looking for rhinos in the reserve. The unusual markings are a form of a genetic mutation called pseudomelanism.

The newborn foal, named Tira, has as well on the 22nd  of September 2019, been spotted by our very own Ibis driver guide, whilst on safari with our group of guests, currently on a 10 day safari through the gorgeous Kenyan parks.

Could this be the best ever year for wildlife holidays?

Join us today for a safari to the Massai mara to have your own personal viewing experience of the wonderful vision of Tira, the Zebra.
